The Cheif Elder says that Jonas needs integrity, intelligence, courage, wisdom, and "The Capacity to See Beyond" Jonas feels a lot of nervousy and horror because at first he thought that they skipped him, but at the end they came back and said that he would be the new...Reciever! Then he felt like he couldn't be the new Reciever, but he has no choice.

At first, Jonas is shocked because she had skipped his turn to recieve his assighnment. Jonas is also shocked to find out that he has been "selected". The council believed that he had all of the qualities that were necissary;intelligence, integrity, courage, and wisdome.
Joans feels as if the Cheif made a mistake at first but doesn't let anyone see his uncertainty about getting his assignment.He's very nervous but confident in what he will have to do for his assignment and not to let the Cheif down.
Jonas has Intelligence,Integrity,Courage, and Wisdom. Jonas has hard time to cope with it because he doesnt want to be separate from the community because he has feelings for his friend Fiona.
The Chef Elder said "He was Intelligence,Integrity,courage,wisdom,the capacity to see beyond. First he was shocked and sad because he was skipped. Then when the Chef Elder said his name he was a little happier but really nervous and he was thinking of what is happening. This his heart sank when he didn't get an assignment. Next the Chef Elder said about what is happening, but then she leaves and Jonas is on stage alone. Then the Crowd was saying his name over and over again first soft then loud. Then he was nervous.

The things Jonas has to have is Inteligence,or do smart things. Integrity, courage ,and also wisdom.When he finds out he is a reseaver he was a little nervous.and confuzed about the rules.
Jonas with this new job has to be nervouse but needs alot of respect because he has never done this job before.but to do this job he needs empathy wisdom and determiation.since the cheif elder skipped him with all of the 12s he felt pretty nnevous. but when he came back to him he was very shocked that now he is the new reciver.
When Jonas first receives the "Assignment" that he gets,he acts so surprised that something this happy would surprise him. The qualities that Jonas needs is that he needs intelligence, courage, and wisdom for this "Assignment" he receives.
the life of the kids in the book is really diffrent than the life that most people think of because they are always watched by someone but our life is not always watched so it seems that our life is way diffrent than ours.
he needs to have integrity,wisdom,COURAGE and he will go through a lot of pain.and he is realy nervous about doing this job couse he cant look back and quit he has to stick with it.
jonas needs to have wisdom and integrity but the most important one to me is that he needs to have coursge. he reacts suprised probably wondering why he needs all these for one job. but think about it how would you feel if you could not quit this job!!!!!!!!!!
